'Tieguanyin', originating from Songyao, Xiping Town, Anxi County, Fujian Province, has a rich history of cultivation spanning over 200 years. It received certification from the National Crop Variety Approval Committee in 1985 under the designation GS13007-1985. 'Tieguanyin' exhibits late spring sprouting, characterized by robust bud and leaf fertility, relatively slender germination, pronounced tenderness, and a green hue with hints of purple-red. The leaves are plump with minimal hairiness, and a hundred buds typically weigh around 60.5g. This variety demonstrates a high yield, remarkable resistance to both drought and cold conditions. Additionally, the cuttings display strong fecundity and a high survival rate. Regarding chemical composition, 'Tieguanyin' tea contains approximately 17.4% tea polyphenols, 4.7% amino acids, 3.7% caffeine, and 51.0% water extract.
