Camellia sinensis var. sinensis cv. 'Fuding Dabaicha' (FDDB)

‘Fuding Dabaicha’ was officially recognized as a national tea variety by the National Tea Tree Variety Approval Committee in 1984. Originating from Bailiu Township, Fuding City, Fujian Province, it boasts a cultivation history of over 100 years. Notably, 25 national and provincial tea tree varieties have been bred using Fuding Dabai as either the female or male parent, a testament to the outstanding genetic qualities of ‘Fuding Dabaicha’. ‘Fuding Dabaicha’ possesses several advantages. It exhibits robust resistance to drought and cold conditions, displays vigorous growth with abundant bud and leaf development, and showcases a desirable tenderness. The leaves are characterized by their plumpness, white appearance, and abundant hairiness. In a dry sample comprising one bud and two leaves, ‘Fuding Dabaicha’ contains approximately 4.3% amino acids, 16.2% tea polyphenols, 11.4% total catechins, and 4.4% caffeine.
