"Longjing Changye" is a newly developed green tea variety by the Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It is highly regarded for its early growth, exceptional quality, cold resistance, and disease resistance. In 1994, it successfully obtained the approval of the National Tea Tree Variety Approval Committee. Characterized by long and elliptical leaf shape, "Longjing Changye" exhibits a high density of germination, vigorous bud growth, and yellow-green bud leaves with minimal hairiness. The leaves possess excellent tenderness. This variety showcases notable cold resistance and adapts well to a wide range of environments. With its high yield, it is particularly suitable for producing green tea. The spring tea of "Longjing Changye" consists of one bud and two leaves, containing approximately 4.1% amino acids, 18.6% tea polyphenols, 3.6% caffeine, and 16.4% total catechins.
