Camellia sinensis var. sinensis cv. 'Shuchazao' (SCZ)

'Shuchazao' was meticulously developed by the collaboration between the Shucheng County Agricultural Committee and the Shucha Jiuyiliu Tea Farm, employing the single-plant system selection method from the local population. This particular tea tree variety boasts strong bud and leaf fertility, early germination, orderly growth, robust resistance, exceptional cold tolerance, and high yield. Notably, during the national regional testing phase spanning from 1997 to 2001, its yield outperformed the control variety, Fuding Dabai tea, by an impressive margin ranging from 37.19% to 138.1%. It thrives in both the southern and northern tea regions of the Yangtze River. Recognized as a national tea tree variety in 2002, it was officially designated with the approval number National Examination Tea 2002008. In terms of chemical composition, the dry sample of 'Shuchazao' contains approximately 3.8% amino acids, 21.6% tea polyphenols, and 4.1% caffeine. The quality of the green tea produced from this variety rivals that of the esteemed 'Fuding Dabaicha'.
