Camellia sinensis var. sinensis cv. 'Zhongcha 108' (ZC108)

'Zhongcha 108' is a tea variety meticulously bred by the esteemed Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The parent of 'Zhongcha 108' is 'Longjing 43'. Through expert intervention, the shoots of 'Longjing 43' were subjected to irradiation, leading to bud transformation and modification of the DNA within the shoots. The spring tea of 'Zhongcha 108' typically begins to sprout in early to mid-March, showcasing robust bud development, impressive tenderness, and resilience against cold, drought, and diseases. Notably, it exhibits exceptional resistance against anthracnose, a particular disease. Furthermore, 'Zhongcha 108' demonstrates a commendable high yield. A dry sample of 'Zhongcha 108' reveals a composition comprising approximately 4.2% amino acid, 23.9% tea polyphenols, and 4.2% caffeine.
